The Lex Factory offers complete post-production sound services for your project. We can custom-tailor service packages to your needs and your budget. Base rates for all services are $50/hour (including all gear & operator) but all project quotes are negotaible.
sound editing
Base rate for sound editing on Digidesign Pro Tools is $50/hour (system & editor).
Sound editing is where we take all the audio tracks from your Avid or Final Cut Pro system via an OMF and smooth them out and prepare them for mix. We also add sound effects (ambiences, walla, hard effects, creative sounds, etc.) and clean up music edits.
Sound editing is typically required before your project can move on to mixing.
sound design
Base rate for sound design on Digidesign Pro Tools is $50/hour (system & editor).
Sound design is an often mis-understood process. Many projects don't actually require this. It consists of artistically creating unique and un-real sounds match the style and action of your project, such as light saber sounds or monster roars.
Unless your project contains elements that don't exist in the real world, you probably don't need design and sound editing will suffice.
foley & adr recording
Base rate for ADR recording on Digidesign Pro Tools is $50/hour (system, microphones, & recording mixer). Base rate for foley is $85/hour (system, recording mixer, and one foley artist.)
ADR (automated dialog replacement) is the method for re-recording the dialog of any actors whose original sound from set is unusable for whatever reason. We require picture with a timecode window burn, original set audio, and whichever actor you wish to re-record.
Foley is the recording of any human-motivated sounds (hand pats, footsteps, etc) that are needed to make the project feel more realistic.

re-recording mixing
Base rate for re-recording mixing on Digidesign Pro Tools is $50/hour (system & mixer).
Re-recording mixing is where we take all the elements from the sound editor, ADR, foley, and composer and blend them together to create the final sound for your project. This is where it all comes together and your project comes to life.
